Disney Day 3 - Epcot

On Monday, we were off to Epcot! Epcot is divided into two major sections, Tomorrowland and The World Showcase. So, we decided to spend 2 days at Epcot so that we could have plenty of time to focus on both areas. Since Tomorrowland had more of the "exciting" attractions (as far as Micah and Emma were concerned), that's where we spent our first day.

While we were waiting in line (for the rope drop, of course), we met a great family from the Chicago area (who were also "Tour Guide Mike" fanatics). They were at Disney for the week also, so we spent quite a bit of time chatting and comparing game plans for the day. The fun thing was that we ended up running into them 3 more times during the week! "It's a small world afterall", huh? :-)

Epcot was a lot of fun. It's one of the parks that will be fun to go back to, as we felt like even in 2 days we just "scratched the surface" of all of the exhibits and hands-on activities that they offer. They even have a Segway "experience" that Geoff was dying to do, but we ran out of time!

Our first stop at Epcot was Soarin', which we ended up riding two more times that day. After That, we headed over to The Seas pavillion, where we sat through the entertaining Turtle Talk with Crush show. Unfortunately, we failed to tell the kids that they might be picked on to participate in the show...And who did Crush talk to first? But our own Micah! Being the first kid picked on, Micah wasn't sure what to do when he heard this turtle "dude" talking to him! But, he did a great job anyway!

At lunchtime we had a sit-down meal at The Garden Grill. This restaurant was in the Land Pavillion, and actually rotated while you were eating. It took about an hour for the restaurant to make a complete circle. While we ate, different characters came around to say hi.

The kids also loved Test Track, and Micah and Geoff went on Mission Space while Emma played in the indoor playground. One ride that became an unexpected favorite was the Living with the Land ride. It really was more of an "educational" exhibit where you ride on a boat through various habitats and end up riding through Disney's agricultural labs and greenhouses. The kids loved it, though, and we ended up riding on it 3 times between our 2 days at Epcot! Who says learning can't be fun?

Here they show how they grow Mickey-shaped pumpkins!
